Since Medieval times, cannabis hemp cords - ropes were used as straps to support the mattress system that consists of linen, seagrass, and hemp. With this system, there is no need for a platform or slats underneath the organic mattress.
Nothing comes close to hemp and flax linen for strength when it comes to tensile strength that can support mattresses and toppers weighing hundreds of kilograms. Plus hemp rope straps allow the mattress above to breathe, keeping the whole bedding system well-ventilated.
